The Boynes Monthly Art Award is here to support and showcase exceptional talent from artists of all backgrounds on a monthly basis. Each month, we feature a specific theme to challenge and inspire artists, from "Portraiture" and "Landscape" to "Explorations in Colour." This format allows artists to experiment, share their diverse perspectives, and compete in a community that values artistic freedom and innovation.
Since launching on October 1, 2022, the Boynes Monthly Art Award has been a space to celebrate artists across the globe every single month. In just three years, hundreds of artists have shared their vision, won recognition, and become part of the Boynes Artist Award community.
The September 2025 Edition — themed Exploration of the Colour Blue — will be the final Monthly Art Award. Submissions close September 28, 2025.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has participated, shared their work, and supported this initiative. While the Monthly Art Award is concluding, the Boynes Artist Award continues, with the 13th Edition launching in 2026 — and it promises to be our biggest yet.

theme: Exploration of the Colour Blue

Similar to the April theme, this focuses on the color blue, inviting artists to experiment with its emotional and visual impact.

Affordable Entry Fee: Each artist may submit up to 3 artworks for $15 USD per submission, making this award accessible to artists at every level.

Competition Rules

The Monthly Artist Award is open to artists over the age of 18 years old at the date of entry. Artists from around the world are welcome to enter this award.
Artists must be the original creators of the work they are submitting and hold 100% of the copyrights to the work being submitted.
Accepted mediums are Painting, Drawing, Photography, Mixed Media, Digital or Sculpture.

The decisions of the judges are final. Winners will be notified by email at the close of judging.
If the Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within sixty (60) days from the time award notification was sent the prize may be forfeited.
All entries will be reviewed by the jury as well as the Boynes Artist Award Director, Chantal Boynes.
Judging is blind, therefore artists will remain anonymous during all the judging process, to ensure that each applicant is judged only on his or her artwork.

As of the 1st January 2025, one (1) winning artist will receive $250 USD cash, a published interview on the official Boynes Artist Award website, an official winner’s certificate and a feature in our newsletter [almost 40,000 subscribers].
The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Boynes Artist Award. The prize is non transferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the Winners. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Boynes Artist Award to use Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

Upon submission to the Boynes Artist Award, the artist will retain full copyrights to their work as well as 100% of any sale made as a result of promotion and marketing of the works through the Boynes Artist Award .
Entering this award gives us permission to use your image to promote and market you and your work through the Boynes Artist Award and it’s Partners, where you will be credited, on our website, email newsletter and social media. Any questions, concerns or requests to remove in relation to use of artwork can be directed to info@boynesartistaward.com with the email subject line being “Artwork Image Use Query”.
The entry fee is non-refundable and not inclusive of any tax applied by your own country or GST in Australia.

The Monthly Award will open on the 1st of each month with submissions running until the end of each month. The specific deadline will be posted along with the monthly theme and explanation at the top of this page.
Judging will take place at the close of submissions for approximately three to seven (3-7) days.
Announcement of winners will take place on the tenth (10th) of the following month.

Please note that entering our Monthly Artist Award does not affect your application to the Boynes Artist Award in any way. This application is separate and also has no bearing on judging in the Boynes Artist Award.
By participating in and submitting to the Boynes Monthly Art Award, the artist acknowledges their unconditional acceptance of the rules, disclaimer and privacy terms.
