This monthly initiative was launched to give all artists around the world even more chances to win cash, publication and more!

Every month we will choose 3 artists to win $100 cash, a published interview with our Art Director & Founder Chantal Boynes, a winner’s certificate and a feature in our Newsletter going out to almost 40,000 artists, gallerists and art lovers. Each month artists will submit to a theme with all artists practicing 2D & 3D mediums welcome to apply.

The theme "Water" invites artists to explore the multifaceted aspects of water, both literally and metaphorically. Artists may depict water in various forms, including oceans, rivers, lakes, and rain, as well as its symbolic representations such as purification, life, tranquility, or turbulence. This theme encourages creativity and allows artists to delve into the profound relationship between humanity and water, addressing environmental, cultural, and emotional dimensions. Artists are challenged to capture the fluidity, movement, and transformative power of water through their chosen medium, whether it be painting, photography, sculpture, or mixed media.

The theme "Wildlife" focuses on celebrating the diversity and beauty of animals in their natural habitats. Artists are encouraged to explore the rich and diverse world of wildlife through various mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and digital art. Participants may depict a wide range of animal species, from mammals and birds to insects and marine life, highlighting their unique characteristics, behaviours, and environments. Artists have the opportunity to showcase their skills in capturing the essence and vitality of wildlife, conveying their majesty, grace, and intrinsic value.

Competition Rules


Please note that entering our Monthly Artist Award does not affect your application to the Boynes Artist Award in any way. This application is separate and also has no bearing on judging in the Boynes Artist Award.


Eligibility

The Monthly Artist Award is open to artists over the age of 18 years old at the date of entry. Artists from around the world are welcome to enter this award.

Artists must be the original creators of the work they are submitting and hold 100% of the copyrights to the work being submitted.

Prize

The 3 winning artists each month will receive $50 usd cash [$100 usd cash as of 1st January, 2023], a published interview on the official Boynes Artist Award website, an official winner’s certificate and a feature in our newsletter [almost 40,000 subscribers].

The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Boynes Artist Award. The prize is non transferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the Winners. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Boynes Artist Award to use Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

Winners

The decisions of the judges are final. Winners will be notified by email at the close of judging.

If the Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within sixty (60) days from the time award notification was sent the prize may be forfeited.

All entries will be reviewed by the jury as well as the Boynes Artist Award Director, Chantal Boynes.

Judging is blind, therefore artists will remain anonymous during all the judging process, to ensure that each applicant is judged only on his or her artwork.

Artists Rights

Upon submission to the Boynes Artist Award, the artist will retain full copyrights to their work as well as 100% of any sale made as a result of promotion and marketing of the works through the Boynes Artist Award .

Entering this award gives us permission to use your image to promote and market you and your work through the Boynes Artist Award and it’s Partners, where you will be credited, on our website, email newsletter and social media. Any questions, concerns or requests to remove in relation to use of artwork can be directed to info@boynesartistaward.com with the email subject line being “Artwork Image Use Query”.

The entry fee is non-refundable and not inclusive of any tax applied by your own country or GST in Australia.

Award Timeline

The Monthly Award will open on the 1st of each month with submissions running until the end of each month. The specific deadline will be posted along with the monthly theme and explanation at the top of this page.

Judging will take place at the close of submissions for approximately three to seven (3-7) days.

Announcement of winners will take place on the tenth (10th) of the following month.


By participating in and submitting to the Boynes Monthly Art Award, the artist acknowledges their unconditional acceptance of the rules, disclaimer and privacy terms.
